Mablethorpe
After an earlier start Year 1 and 2 were on their way to the coastal town of Mablethorpe. When we arrived at the seal sanctuary we got to watch the seals being fed. We enjoyed watching them swim in and out of the water to catch the fish and learnt about how they are suited to their habitat. It was then time to explore the exhibits and look at the various animals including meerkats, gibbons, ring-tailed lemurs and many different species of birds. By this time, we were all hungry and gathered together around the picnic area to eat our lunch. During our ice-cream treat we listened and watch one of the keepers teach us about how a snake, tarantula and a lizard survive in different habitats. Following this we walked across the sand dunes down to the beach. We had a great time playing together on the sand despite the wind and the rain. Before long it was time to head back to the coach and had to clean the sand from between our toes. We had a fantastic day and were told how well behaved the children were.
