Farewell Year 6
We say goodbye with a lovely Leaver's Service and fabulous Gala Dinner.
It has been a busy and emotional final week at GHF for our Year 6 children. They started the week with a treat of bowling (kindly funded by the FSA) and picnic in the park and then put together their thoughts and memories for their Leavers Service.
They began Thursday, their penultimate day at GHF, with a lovely Leavers Service. The children shared their fondest and funniest memories of their time here and the grown-ups who had supported them. They also shared their Y6 children’s special awards, such as the ‘happiest’ children and the ‘class clowns’. As always, the singing was beautiful, especially when all the children sang The Climb which is a Year 6 favourite. We also enjoyed it when the Year 6 children sang their version of ‘big school’ version of George Ezra’s Shotgun.
Here is the Year 6 version of Shotgun.
For the rest of the day, the Year 6 children worked with Darren from Roots to Food to prepare and serve a fantastic three-course dinner for 70 parents and teachers. The children all had different roles, from waiters to chefs, and did a very professional job – showing their parents that they can be trusted to do a lot more around the house! They worked really hard to deliver lovely and memorable evening for everyone to say a huge thank you to the people who have supported them.
For everyone at GHF, it has been both a pleasure and honour to see these children on their learning journey and see how individually, they have grown and flourished. And now they are leaving us for the next stage in their life, their education, we hope they keep on following in God’s footsteps and living by our GHF values, so that they continue to flourish and that they will always strive to be the best that they can be!
